Why the name, 7 Monks Taproom?

Trappist beer is a beer brewed by or under control of Trappist monks. Yes, we said monks. There are a total of 174 Trappist monasteries worldwide (as of April 2011); only seven (six in Belgium and one in the Netherlands) produce Trappist beer and are authorized to label their beers with the Authentic Trappist Product logo. Hence the name.

At Seven Monks, we love beer. Our beer flows from 46 taps and our ever-changing bottled beer selection. In addition to our Trappist beer, we serve craft beers from Michigan and around the world.

We also have wine on tap and we serve delicious food. Come try try something new or sip on an old favorite with a friend.
