Cousin Jenny's: At The Corner of Excellence...A Traverse City Tradition Since 1979.
Pasties were introduced to the north country by Cornish miners who liked them because they were easy to tote. They are a hearty meal within itself inside a pastry crust and were traditionally filled with leftovers. They were made by the wives (called the Cousin Jenny's) of the Cornish miners.\n\n Cousin Jenny's serves delicious pasties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our 7 lunch and dinner varieties include Steak filled with steak, potatoes, onion and rutabaga; Veggie made with 7 different vegetables, cream and cheddar cheeses; Chicken filled with peas, carrots, potatoes, corn and cheddar cheese; Italian made with pizza sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, and mozzarella; German filled with Swiss cheese, ham and sauerkraut in a rye crust and our French potato filled with ham, potatoes, monterey and cheddar cheese, green onion and sour cream; Steak n' cheddar filled with steak, potatoes, onion, rutabaga and cheddar cheese.
