Kellett Construction Company
Whether you're exploring an idea for a new home or home renovation, or you're closing in on finished architectural plans, it's never too early to begin a conversation with the general contractor. At KCC, we advocate this discussion at or before the preliminary design phase of work. Important things to discuss and consider include budget, feasibility, scope and timing. "Value-engineering" options which are often a requirement in a challenging economy, can be evaluated more cost-effectively off of progress sketches as opposed to final engineered plans.
It is also advantageous to begin interviewing interior designers and landscape planners in these early stages. We have found the "teamwork" philosophy --- up front collective planning with the selected contractor, architect, interior designer, landscape designer/contractor and homeowner --- literally helps bring the end project together. The finished home is richly crafted, stylistically and proportionally correct, elegant yet livable, and uniquely custom --- through the benefits of early partnering of these professionals.
