Our founder Tom Goulas was born in a small village of central Greece named Amigdali. He got his first job when he was fourteen years old in a very busy Gyro sandwich shop in downtown Athens. This experience inspired him to open up his own restaurant. After serving in the army for two years, he moved to the United States for a better future and to live out his dream. He opened the first Honey Tree in 1975 in Farmington Hills on Orchard Lake Road. Since then, his Honey Tree business has blossomed. There are currently six locations in the Detroit Area, including the newest location in Bloomfield Township. Over the last 12 years, Tom also has opened several stores with his family members and friends.
Our mission at Honey Tree is simple. We strive to provide a dining experience that makes our customers say, "We love the Honey Tree!"
